The game begins with Crash's old nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex, teaming up with the evil Ripto, the main villain in the Spyro the Dragon line of games. The two hatch a plan to work together and take over both worlds for themselves. After an initial misunderstanding, Crash and Spyro realize who they're really up against and join forces to defeat the dastardly duo, paving the way for more sequels down the road.In story mode, you guide Crash through the standard side-scrolling action fare. Crash must defeat the usual minions using his signature leaps and whirlwind attacks, collecting all the Wumpa fruit he can along the way.
